Memorial Day Fun!

We went to a Water Park in Collins, MS on Memorial Day. Yes, there is a Water Park and a very nice one at that. Some good friends joined us and we had a blast! It was questionable at first because it rained on us a lot of the way down there but SLH watched the weather and was pretty sure that it would clear up and be okay. After about an hour of us getting there the clouds broke and it turned out to be a decent day. Actually we all got more sun than we thought we would. AEH got stung by a wasp when we first got there :(, but she quickly recovered. She and her friend MC had a good time going down the slides, riding the Lazy River, and playing on the Water Fort. We didn't take EMH because he just can't handle being out in the sun too long. It was a lot of fun and we hope to go back again this summer. It was definitely worth the ride down there.

This was their favorite slide. That's AEH in the middle and MC is at the bottom of the picture. AC is above AEH and I am up at the top...still haven't taken off. :)

AC and I trying out one of the toughest slides. It was pretty fast!

I ended up going backwards halfway down this one. SLH says that he had nothing to do with us ending up that way...ummm, look at that look on his face.

The daddies were so good. They went down those slides several times with the girls.

Aren't they cute! The lifeguards just loved them!

Dressed Alike

AEH and I dressed alike today for church. I found some capri pants for her and a skirt for me and thought it would be fun. She wasn't to keen on the idea at first because she was wearing pants instead of a dress... she is so girly and loves to wear dresses. When I was putting her white shirt on, she even said she looked like a boy. I guess she thinks button down shirts are for boys. Anyway, she ended up liking it because she looked like mommy. SLH liked it too, but asked me "Where is your pink bow?". :)

This and That

AEH finished out her school year Tuesday. She will have a couple of weeks off and then she will go two mornings a week through June and July. The summer program is real laid back. They will play a lot outside, go swimming and will probably take some field trips.
We have Vacation Bible School in a week...yikes(this is reminding me of how much I need to do)! I am teaching preschool music. This will be my 5th year doing it. I really enjoy it. I have been trying to learn the songs and motions this week. I always say each year that it will be hard to top last year's songs, but I have liked the songs every year. Our theme this year is "Boomerang Express" and the two songs that I have learned are great!
Yesterday I went to my ENT doctor. I have been having drainage for several weeks and I finally decided that I had, had enough. He gave me some medicine, so hopefully it will clear up soon. We ended up staying out pretty much the whole day. My mom met us and I went and bought a booster seat for AEH and then mom treated us to Cheddar's. I finally got that Monte Cristo. It was sooo good. The wait and service was terrible because they were so busy, but I guess it was worth it.
Today we stayed at home and I cleaned and got caught up on housework. It was a good day to be in because it was raining here. I cooked tonight and we usually go out on Friday night but since we had take out from Newk's one night this week, and Nagoya another and my last night league match was this week so my tennis team went to Alumni House and SLH and the kids went to his mom's to eat. Anyway, I figured I had bypassed cooking long enough. We had Poppy Seed Chicken and Rice, Green Beans, Candied Carrots and Mini Sour Cream Biscuits. I was quite proud of myself, considering I had cleaned bathrooms and taken care of kids today as well. Ms. Judy you would be proud of my carrots. They weren't quite as good as yours but they were pretty good.

SLH thought I was crazy when I took a picture of the food on the stove. I could feel these eyes looking at me from behind and I turned around and he just laughed and shook his head and said "are you taking a picture for "that" blog". If you know SLH then you can probably guess what he thinks about this blogging. He thinks how do you have time to do it as well as reading other blogs... just not his thing.
While I was cooking dinner. I heard something going on in my living room. AEH had put her Snow White dress on and was singing to EMH and the song was none other than "Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer"...I have no idea where that came from. Oh, and yes my living room looks like Romper Room these days, but I wouldn't have it any other way.:)

I took this picture of EMH this past Sunday after church. I try to take one around the first of each month for his baby book. It's hard to believe he is 8 months old. He is really wanting to get moving, he just can't get that big body going and he hates being on his stomach so he just falls forward and cries. Today I noticed that he will just sit there and rock back and forth as if to say "mommy help me". He has been such an easy baby but I have a feeling he is going to be into everything when he starts moving. He is very curious and ruff with stuff.

We have a pretty laid back weekend planned. Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!

Beach Trip

Oh where do I begin. First let me say thanks to mom and dad for another wonderful family vacation. We all had a great time and it was so good to get away and spend time with family. We couldn't have asked for better weather. We had 3 good days of sunshine and the temperature was perfect. We stayed in a really nice condo in Perdido. We had fun from the beach, to the pool, playing a little tennis, shopping at Foley, and of course some good eating.

This was EMH's first trip away from home and he did great. He slept in his pack-n-play every night and for naps just like we were at home. He is such an easy going baby and adapts really well. He also did well on the ride to and from. I don't think he cried once in the car. We took a little swimming pool to put on the beach and he loved splashing in it. He liked sitting on the edge of the water and watching the waves come in, but we couldn't stay long because he also liked eating the sand. We tried out the pool and he liked that too. He just couldn't stay out too long at a time because the sun would just tire him out so quickly.

AEH went back and forth from the beach to the pool. We were happy to see how well she picked up on her swimming. She is right where she was at the end of last summer. She just couldn't get enough and it was hard to get her to go in each afternoon. She took some good naps and slept really well at night. SLH took her to an amusement park one night after dinner and she had fun riding rides and eating sorbet.

On Mother's Day morning I got a sweet card and necklace from the kids. The necklace has their names and birthstones on it. It is so sweet and I am really enjoying wearing it. SLH gave me the day to go shopping at Foley. Yes girls, I did get me a new Coach purse. KS you will be happy to know that I didn't spend quite as long picking one out this time.:) My mom always gives me something from the kids for Mother's Day and this year AEH gave me a cute pink tennis hat that she signed her name on inside the hat and EMH gave me a little scrapbook photo album that my mom made titled, "Me and My Mommy". It is so cute and sweet. My mom got some cards and a Chi Flat Iron from all of us.

Getting Ready For The Beach

We are 2 days away from being on the beach! We are leaving Friday for Perdido and will be back next Tuesday. My parent's are taking us and my brother and sister-in-law. We are so excited and ready for a get away. Now the task is to pack this bunch. We have my parents taking stuff for us and my brother taking stuff for us. There is so much to pack when you have an infant...formula, bottles, diapers, stroller, pack-n-play, baby food, boppy pillow, duck bath tub,... oh my this is starting to stress me out just thinking about it. I think I may need to start making a list and better yet, START PACKING...yikes! But, instead guess what I am doing tomorrow? Going fishing with my dad! Well, it may be the last time we get to go while the fish are biting so we are gonna do some serious fishing (without Ms. AEH). We will just be gone for half the day(that is unless the fish are just biting too good) so I should be able to get started packing tomorrow.
I had the stomach virus at the beginning of the week, ugh. I think I caught it from EMH. He had it at the end of last week. I was in the bed all day Monday and still very weak and groggy on Tuesday. I went to work today but I was pretty tired when I got home. The only good that came out of it was losing 4 lbs. So glad that I got that out of the way before our beach trip.
You know I can't have a post with no pictures. So I leave you with EMH and his new ducky bathtub. He LOVES it! He can sit up in it and he just splashes away.
Have a great weekend and hopefully I'll have some beach pictures next week. You know I will! ;)

Fishing Trip #2

Well, Granddad wasn't gonna rest until AEH caught her a fish. After our trip last week she just kept saying "I didn't catch a fish". So granddad took us to a farm pond to see if AEH could catch some bream. It worked! AEH caught several bream with her princess fishing pole. She had a great time and she beat us all!
Do you see the bend in that rod!

AEH's Fish

Fishing is hard work and can make a girl hungry! Taking a sandwich break.

Juju and EMH taking it all in!

We have a busy weekend. Our choir is doing a special program Sunday morning. The music is great and it will be a wonderful service. I have choir rehearsal Sat. morning and a friends wedding that night. Sunday morning will be our program and since we will be at the beach next weekend with my family, we are cooking out and doing Mother's Day early for Meme on Sunday afternoon.
Hope you have a great weekend too!
